On everyone’s minds is the Coronavirus, and for many of you, what is Kennedy Club Fitness doing to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment?  Last week we shared the increased cleaning and disinfectant regime throughout the Club, accessible hand-sanitizing stations, consistent and clear communication with staff and members regarding all our roles in keeping KCF a refuge for the mind, body and spirit during this time.  Here are more updates for this week:

  • CLUB HOURS: No changes are planned at this time.  We are taking every step necessary to provide you a refuge that is clean and safe. We will monitor this daily.
  • GROUP EXERCISE CLASS PARTICIPANTS: We want to be sensitive to the recommendation of ‘social distancing’ so class sizes will be limited where necessary to provide more space between participants. For sign-up classes, not all spots will be open for reservation; all other classes will be monitored for size and reservation requirements implemented if necessary.
    • Silver Lining Announcement: Before COVID-19, we’ve been researching providing online group exercise classes in your favorite formats  to supplement your workouts when you’re unable to come to the Club.  We will be launching–this ‘member only benefit’ later this week so stay tuned for details!
  • SAUNA (Atascadero) and STEAM Rooms (ALL Clubs): Closed for an extra layer of safety. The Whirlpools will remain open at this time.

Keep the spread of any virus away from the Club by staying home if you are feeling well and not returning until you are fully well.  Wash your hands with soap and water often or use hand sanitizers, cough into your arm, dispose tissues when you sneeze.  Together, we can continue to help keep SLO County the healthiest county in the country.

FITNESS DEPARTMENT NEWS:  Kristi, Fitness Director (805)466-6775 ext. 24  atafitness@kennedyclubs.com

New to the Club?  Remember to schedule your fitness orientation.  During the fitness orientation, we will discuss your goals and specific training needs.  We will match you to a personal trainer for two complimentary sessions and provide you with a plan meeting your fitness goals.  Schedule your fist appointment with Kristi at her contact information above.   You can also schedule with the Front Desk, too. We are here to help you every step of the way

Spring is coming and we have several new programs for you to check out.  Click here and select Personal Training to see all that is offered right now to get you ready for Summer.

Training Spotlight: Rope Pull Machine (located in our training court). Rope Pulling Machines are excellent choices to rehab upper and lower body injuries. People with lower body injuries will increase their upper body strength and aerobic conditioning.  Those with upper body injuries can execute an active range of motion beneficial to training or rehabilitating injured muscles.  For assistance on how to use the Rope Pull Machine, please ask Kristi.

We are excited to bring two new trainers to our team: Maud Lockshaw and Trishie Mortion. Maud has a sports background and specializes in weight loss and working with women and our ‘senior’ members. Trishie has had her own personal struggles to overcome– and now manage– an auto-immune disease.  She wants to apply her experiences to help members work through setbacks and illness. For a complimentary consultation with either one of these new trainers, contact Kristi at her information above or call the Front Desk.

With Summer around the corner many people look for increased help and accountability to reach their fitness goals. Our Personal Trainers will customize a plan just for you. We offer hour and half-hour sessions, one-on-one or small group.  Contact Kristi for more information.
